O'Brien tire in Granite City. Had a nail in my tire and called O'Brien's to see if they could fix, they did, but charged me 25.00 dollars. I did check around with other companies and your pricing is within range of their's. I was not attaching your work, which I always thought was good or I would not have called you, I was just shocked at the price it took to fix a nail hole.
Phyllis, we are troubled that you do not see the value in our tire repair service. Since your 1-star is about the cost rather than the quality of the repair, let me take this opportunity to explain the difference between what you get for a cheap price and a quality repair at O'Brien's. Most shops plug tires from the outside, then just put it back on. That takes 2 minutes. The problem is that most if not all plugs will eventually not hold up and you will most likely be paying for another tire repair or a new tire because it was incorrectly repaired the first time and then the tire was ruined and you have a blow out on a busy highway. On the other hand, we take the time to remove the tire and patch it from the inside. That takes a minimum of 15 minutes. We also take the time to balance the tire that was just repaired. That takes 3 minutes. Most other shops do not rebalance the repaired tire. We also take the time to inspect all of your other tires and look at your brakes, shocks, etc., but most other shops do not. That takes another 5 minutes. We do that so you have a safe vehicle to drive. Most people do not have anyone to look at these things for them, so we do, and that is why our guests come back, because they know we do it right the first time. We also get you back on the road quicker than most shops because we are staffed with enough exceptional tire techs who provide quality work quickly so you're not sitting around waiting for that 1 other tire tech to get to you at a cheap place. There are plenty of those other shops around that will give you fast, cheap service for a variety of reasons - fly by nights; cheap, inexperienced labor; dirty shops. For 86 years, we have worked hard to provide exceptional service! Isn't peace of mind the repair was done right the first time worth the few dollars more -- especially if your family Is in the vehicle or you happen to do a lot of highway driving? Thank you for giving us the opportunity to explain the quality of our tire repair process and the value and peace of mind we provide every day to our guests. Next time you need a tire repair, ask if they do all of what we do first. Chances are they don't come near our service. Lastly, if that is not worth $25 to you, come by and we will refund your money.
