I have been here multiple times before with no problems. The staff is always nice. But I brought my van here a couple weeks ago because my van WHEEL kept making rattling and grinding noises. They ended up telling me that it was totaled and it had large amounts of oil leaking everywhere and a few other small things. They said they didn't even want to touch it. I had an oil change maybe a month before and no one ever mentioned anything about that to me. Plus I have never seen leaking at all. I decided to see what another mechanic would say. It ended up not being totaled at all and works fine now. Nothing that was actually wrong was anything that OBrien's said. There was not oil leaking either. Luckily I trusted my gut and didn't get an all new car thinking it was actually totaled. Paid $60 for them to look at it even though I got none of the right answers. I like to support local businesses, but unfortunately family will not be going here again. UPDATE- That is the most disrespectful reply I have ever seen from a business! Very unprofessional! Basically calling both of us liars. Whoever called him to tell him everything that was wrong definitely told him it was totalled and that they didn't even want to touch it. He told me exactly what you guys also put on the invoice when he told me what you guys said about it. I still have my invoice and it says EXACTLY what I said it did in my review. As for my phone number, whoever wrote it down got my address and phone number wrong so that is not my fault. I took my van to a new mechanic by the way. I haven't had a certain person fixing my van because I couldn't find somewhere I liked and figured I would give you business. My mistake. Why would you act like I don't know what I'm doing and take it back to the same person just because I didn't trust what you all said and gave you a bad review? I will NOT be deleting my review just because you don't like it. That's the point of reviews is to let other people know if they will be going somewhere that they should trust or not. I'm sorry that your business gave me a bad experience.
Jorian, we regret that you feel your review is a representation of what actually happened. Factually, we never spoke to you. Your telephone number we have does not work. We only spoke to your grandfather. Perhaps your grandfather mis-communicated to you? Your grandfather actually paid your bill for the diagnostics you requested because, apparently, whoever else is working on your vehicle was not able to diagnose it for you. Your van came in for a noise, and our service tech determined it was from work you had done by the other mechanic you go to, and that they did work and then ZIP TIED parts together, clanking around and causing your noise. So, when you say you trusted your gut and went to another mechanic, I interpret that to mean you took it back to the place where the mechanic zip-tied your parts together causing your noise problem in the first place and had them fix it. We never stated to your grandfather that your vehicle was totalled and you needed a new car. READ YOUR INVOICE which has an exact description of what was the outcome of the diagnostics you requested! However, there is clear evidence that your vehicle bottomed out on terrain and there is clear evidence that your under-carriage is soaked by fluid which requires a degrease and dye to find the source of the leak. You do not need to actually see fluid on the ground before there is an indication of a problem. And why had your other mechanic not informed you of this? No one said you have large amounts of oil leaking everywhere such that you should be seeing it. Leaks have different classes of activity, but if you are having any amount of fluid soaking your under-carriage, it should be addressed before it becomes a bigger, more expensive problem. Although, if you want to wait until your leak shows on the ground in order to think you have a problem, that's your call. Jorian, contrary to your statement, you have never had the oil changed here on that vehicle hence why we never said anything to you before about the fluid leak. The only other work we have done on that vehicle has been a couple of tire repairs. We have spoken to your grandfather after investigating the statements in your review and what actually occurred and advised him that your review is in error. We were not able to reach you, unfortunately, to discuss it directly with you. Kindly discuss this with your grandfather to find out what really was discussed between you 2 and be fair in recognizing that what is on your invoice and what your grandfather may have told you or you understood is not what is stated on your invoice. Since we did not state any of these things to you, or to your grandfather, I respectfully request you remove this review. For 92 years, we have stood behind our work, our honesty, our integrity, and our customer service. What you described in your review would never happen here. Unfortunately, when you have several mechanics working on your vehicle, it can be confusing as to what occurred where. But we did not zip tie your parts together nor did we ever perform an oil change on your vehicle. Our invoices always document exactly our diagnostic findings and what repair is required. At the end of the day, I recommend you find a mechanic that you trust and can service all your vehicle's needs so that you are not having to pay for someplace else to tell you what another place did wrong. An inexpensive repair done by the wrong mechanic can lead to an expensive repair by the right one. You may reach me at 618-876-7616 if you would like to discuss this further.
